Hi,
My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.

You are so right! I am a pain patient for the past ten years. I have a morphine pump and need to take break thu pain meds as well. I have never had a problem passing random drug screens but when the time comes that I move to a new location or change my insurnce which then forces me to change doctors; many times I have a problem finding a doctor that will treat me in a manner that will allow me to function within reason! If I am not medicated enough, I can do nothing because the pain is just too great! I am in South Florida and use to fill my break thru meds for oxycodone at Wallgreens. Recently however Wallgreens distribution center was shut down by DEA leaving many of us here in Florida without our medications because they can not longer get it. CVS has also had a number of their pharmacys shut down recently. No one seems to be able to handle the number of patients that are now without their medications here in Florida. This is how I see it! Here in Florida, they let the problem get completely out of hand before they did anything about it. We had more pain clinics than Mc Donalds; many of them just used for the purpose of obtaining illegal drugs. We had many coming in from out of state and visiting various offices and then filling there perscriptions and taking them home for re-sale only to return the following month to do it again! DEA knew this was happening but did nothing until recently and now the people who really need these medications are having a hard time getting there medication. Even with a perscription, there is no one able to fill it!!!!!! It is sad when you go to the pharmacy at a cancer institute after seeing your physician who is treating you for cancer and are told that they do not have the pain medication that your doctor has prescribed and dont know when they will get it. This is not hypothetical, it happened recently here in the Orlando area to my friend. After going to about 20 pharmacys they had to accept half of what there prescription was written for and go back to the doctor who wrote them another script for the other half which we have been unable to find as of yet! I care that the wrong people are getting these meds but I have no control over that! I am angry as hell when I or my friend goes to fill a prescription and no one has our medication! I was once told that pain never hurt anyone! Let me shoot that fool in the foot and see how it feels to heal without pain meds!

Dr Jeffrey Bado use to be the coolest Dr in the world but since he got a new staff it's like gone to see a bunch of Nazis they are fing nuts he let's his staff pick and chose who they get rid of. He actually treated everyone like they mattered his staff is gonna cause him to lose his license

I was going to pain management in West Chester, he would not increases meds from vikes cause he said there to addictive, just like every one else I havebad back problems and med one replacement and back surgery, all these pain docs do is tell you you need surgery offer you shots that cost an arm and leg and say they don't write scripts. Someone uses to not be afraid, can't function at work without my meds. toe Give up on pain docs and get somewhere. How do all these guys selling pills get them, hundreds at a time for a stub

Dr.'s take people w/ no insurance all the time.
But you three red flags against you
Your looking for a "New" Doc because you "Just relocated"
You need "pain meds"
And then the blood presure meds.......
Even when its true they instantly think that you are Doc shoping

The truth is, the new obama care has hit doctors so hard that they refuse to help anyone in pain. It doesn't matter what is wrong with us anymore, the doctors get in so much trouble that they are unwilling to help. I haven't gotten any help in years even though I was told I had to be on pain management for life. The only reason I even get up and try anymore is for my children. People wanted hope and change... yay.. w/e :(

University of Pennsylvania Hospital System is only in it for the money, pushing cortizone which will explode your teeth, stop your heart, can paralyze and/or kill you. I know, their prognosis and methadone killed me twice. They're full of s***.

Penn Pain Medicine is a fraud. Dr. Del Burkey is a madman who won't prescribe pain killers and Penn Medicine, HUP, are only in it for the cortizone money. Cortizone will explode your teeth and give you hematomas, eventually leading to your death. They're full of s***!

Hey guys, I posted my number way back on the first page, and then posted my old Drs. Info. He cut me off though and I have serious back and neck injuries. I was told by a few Drs that surgery is too risky bc it may paralyze me, I also can't get massages or see a chiropractor for the same risk. I have tried everything and the only thing that even slightly helps is the meds. If anyone can help me I truly need it and will hook u up, and if any of you guys want to try my old Dr, his info is posted in an earlier thread. My # is there too, and I have spoke to many of you through calls or texts. Please contact me if you can help me or I can help you. Also, a little advice, when calling a new Dr, do not tell them over the phone about pain or injuries unless its pain management. If its a regular family Dr, just say you need a new primary Dr and its for a check up, then once you get there tell the doc about your issues. The receptionist are now told to turn away anyone who seems like a "druf seeker." So as soon as they hear pain or injuries they assume the worst and turn us away. Hope I can help and pray someone can help me as well. Thanks and good luck to all.
