Doctors Who Prescribe Pain Killers In Philadelphia (Page 59)

Hi, My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards.

I've found my pain management Dr. Padnes of spruce st. Philadelphia. PA after getting pain relief from failed neck saving surgery, right leg from above knee to mid thigh & from damage to my lower back during a mylogram. I now have osteoporosis in my back. I can't find a new dr due to the scare the DEA has put in pain dr.s & my only pain dr of 20 yrs can't get in touch to get my records. Does anyone have an idea of how I can get the records that were sent to my pain dr before I started with him? My surgeries, physical therapies & inj's. are things that I don't need to do again. I also saw a chiropractor. I'm crippled in pain but cant get treatment without my records. All dr.'s today think everyone is a drug addict! I need help. Any ideas? I appreciate any help.

I have more foot problems than anyone on earth. Chronic pain, neuropathy, a neurological disease that makes you have really bad spasms, weak lower limbs etc. I was on lyric and Celebrex and both helped with the pain but not as much as I needed. Instead of a pain mgmt dr right now try a podiatrist for the neuropathy. They will write scripts for lyrica, Celebrex etc. It's a place to start. After a solid history you might be able to be referred to a pain mgmt dr

I'm very surprised that the dr gave you Lyrica for chronic pain? My dr of 20 yrs tried Lyrica on me & I found that what you get from Lyrica is not pain relief but a crazy buzz! I can't take Lyrica, I can't function on it & I really see no pain relief compared to opiates. I'm sure ppl won't agree but it's how I feel.

I don't understand the post? Did a new patient tell the dea about the dr who was trying to help a patient? You only have to say no if you feel the meds are too strong! There are many ppl that have gotten relief from opiates for 30 yrs or more on opiates & as ppl get older their bodies break down with age & may need more medication to live their last 20 or ten yrs. Some dr's care about pain that stops ppl from living, more than living in bed in un relieving pain. If you're not that person don't take the meds. There are ppl in worst shape than you & need a dr who will help ppl in that condition to live their last days not in tears & no sleep. Dont get dr licenses taken away for trying to help. Tell dr that you dont need meds, dont deny ppl who would have suffered their last 30 yrs without a brave dr like the ones you've ruined by painting a horrible picture of to the dea & taken away life to the ppl who need a dr that you've condemned to being a bad dr, when you only had to tell him you only need light pain pills? There are some of us who need that dr and you've taken our only hope of being able to make it through our last 5-10 yrs of our lives being able to enjoy our grandchild & children & us from them as our families dont want to see us suffer needlessly due to ppl like you, who think you're dr & can say what drugs & dose we need. When dea & ppl like you get your specialty licence you can decide what your patients need. Until then keep your mouth open only about your own treatment. Until you've suffered in my pain for 30 yrs. Can you speak about how you deal with your threshold of your pain? Dont make the rest of us suffer without these dr that some of us need to want to live!!! If I must suffer the way I am now, I will use the main drug that dea is trying to stop illegal use of to end my life, if im condemned to live my last yrs in this un bearable pain. Why live if its continuing a life of unbearable pain, cant eat or sleep. Being in bed gives no relief, just same agony!!! Keep your mouth shut or go to another dr!! We need dr that will treat the hard patients that anti-inflammatories & inj. Won't help! Many of us can't be helped by all that dea approves!

I need help to find a chronic pain dr in south nj? I use to pay cash to my dr in Phila.center city,I'm finding it hard to find a dr who treats with opiates in south nj,I was treated with Opana ER & Dauladid for break through pain.I can't pay cash anymore & have horizon n.j.The big problem is opiates .I need 2opana ER a day & talking to a nj dr is like talking to the DEA !!! They all fear for losing their medical licenses by treating with any opiates.My other injuries ontop of my osteoporosis has gotten so bad my body is like a great big infected tooth through my whole body,no relief !!!!i need help & there's No One

Any new Phila pain dr that treat with opiates ? I'll take my food $ to get what has helped me for 20 yrs.i can't eat or sleep due to. Chronic pain at 60 I should not have to live like this.if DEA can tell pain dr how to care for patients why not let Book keepers help with pain management treatment better yet employment offices help DEA treat ppl??

You can go to North American Spine, Dr. Rastogi and Dr. Slevin. I would personally see Dr. Rastogi. Only problem is that the highest they go is 15mg for Roxi and 30mg for OxyContin. Who were you seeing in Philly because I'm looking for a Philly Dr that I can pay cash to. My insurance only allows me to see Drs within their network and I run into the same problem. Only reason I was able to see Dr. Rastogi was due to a car accident.

May I ask in what city North American Spine is? The doctor I see is in Montgomery County PA and he has suggested I find another pain management doctor as he knows after cutting me down by 75% on my medication that I truly truly do need more medication but he is very strict and does not want to keep me where I was before. I have had 3 back surgeries that have all been unsuccessful and have titanium screws and plates in my back. My spine is 98% covered in arthritis. I have spinal stenosis. I really have too many diseases to list. I have been completely bedridden for the past two months. The pain is becoming unbearable. I was in a car accident when I was 17 that literally split my car into two. I have gone through every type of physical therapy, every procedure, everything you can think of. I am now 47 years old. I even had a spinal stimulator put in my back with malfunctions so I am very unlikely to try this again. I have been told on my surgeon who was one of the best in the country that the only thing left for me is pain management, that there is absolutely nothing that can be done for me at L3, L4, L5 and S1. I have disc desiccation and my spine is just crumbling away like a bad cookie. I have so many diseases in my back I can hardly even remember them all. The pain I feel is also from the RSD which causes me to lose feeling in my legs and fall. In 2009 I fell because I lost feeling in both my legs broke both my ankles every bone in my right foot and every toe and my right foot and ended up needing screws and every toe on my right foot to put my toes back together and spent over a month in the hospital. The pain I live with is becoming just unbearable and I don't know how much longer I can go on like this. My doctor is very sympathetic and said he would speak to any doctor I could find and let them know yes I do need more medication but he is a young doctor and is very strict and does not want to risk his license and his cutting down his patients to the Bone. He will talk to another doctor and let him know exactly what I need and hopefully he said I can find someone that will help me. He is very sweet and kind but unwilling to risk his license for just one person. I know everyone in here is in the same boat and I am just at the end of my rope literally.

Try Mt Airy Pain something on Chew Ave. They take cash. $400 first visit, $200 every other. I never went but I called.

OMG! I feel so bad for you because my pain is probably nothing compared to yours. It's just disgusting with all your issues that you can't find a pain mgmt dr to give you whatever you need. I was going to a pain mgmt in Delaware that was private pay and ended up closing. I found another pain mgmt dr who takes medicare and insurance but the waiting room is packed at all times. I had no problems switching from the first dr with their recommendation and this place gave me meds right off the bat.

Southeast pm - you need proof of records and pharmacy records, also passing a U/A is a must. There's a few places. They don't take Medicaid, only Medicare and so on, no cash.

Hello, I am going through the same thing. I was on 200mg of morphine. My Dr will not give them to me. He cut me from 200mg to 15mg 2x a day, until i go see a pain management dr. I'm in so much pain and cant sleep. I'm exhausted from no sleep. Idk any dr that will prescribe them to me. I tried as many dr as i could find but bc of the DEA, they dont want to do it no more. If anyone knows of a dr in philadelphia area plz post it. I'm in desperate need. I'm also on xanax 1mg and so afraid of having seizures without them. I can tell you this, i started using kratom. If you didn't hear about it, look it up. It really works. The best strain to use is (Red or Green) or mixed the two together. Anyone in pain try it. It's all natural and can't OD on it.

Sorry I didn't know if you were replying to me. The place I'm talking about is in Newark, DE. I'm not that familiar with places in Philly but time wise it's about 50 minutes from the airport. They do alot of stuff with back injuries and someone told me they had a surgical center but that closed so I think they're concentrating on the meds. I'm on oxy but it's a low dose and something else and I'm on celebrex, gabapentin, etc from my primary. Anyway I know this place is far from you and I wanted to reply but I wasn't sure you were asking me or someone else

Thank you for replying Patty yes I should have made it clear that I was talking to you. I so wish it was closer because I can only see doctors in Philadelphia not Delaware but thank you so much honey for your reply and I wish you luck on your journey are feeling better and hopefully being able to find medicine that can help you too if they aren't helping you as well be careful with that Gabapentin because I was on that and it made my speech very slurry and it made me forget a lot if it does this to you there is another drug called Topamax which is in the same family but doesn't make you as loopy or slurring your speech and forgetting words as Gabapentin does period just food for thought in case you're having those side effects from it okay thank you so much honey
