Doctors Who Prescribe Methadone In Ma

i recently was perscribed methadone by a pain management dr. in mass. i was sexually assualted by a patient. and left the practice. my dr. assured me i would be perscribed the meds i was on. he never sent over my proper paper work. to the dr. he referred me to. therefore i could not get the dr. to give me the methadone. i was originally perscribed by my pain dr.i couldnt find a dr. so was forced to go on a methadone clinic. which now im labeled as having a substance abuse propblem. i have no life anymore. im on liquid handcuffs. i have to go everyday. even holidays. ive lost my freedom because of what happened to me. i feel like i should of never said anything about the sexual assaualt. and just stayed with the dr. i had. if anyone knows of a dr. in mass that will perscribe to me. im legit. i have major pain problems. the dr. i saw was new england pain assoc.

I am very, very sorry for what you're going through.

But, since you've gotten the addict label now in your medical records, you are not going to find a doctor to prescribe it, because they legally aren't allowed to prescribe Methadone for addiction treatment. They can only prescribe it to treat pain.

And your old doctor was remiss to assure you that you'd be prescribed the same medications by any other doctor, because he can't guarantee that, even if he had sent your records to them.

Have you considered trying different medications? That may get you the help you need from a new doctor.
