hello so heres my question i am looking for a new pain management doctor in either the 5 borrows or in new jersey that prescribe roxycodone/oxycodone 30mg i currently have a doctor in staten island who was prescribing me 45 roxys bi weekly then uped me to 60 30mg roxys bi weekly now he has me coming in every week and lowered me to 20mg oxycodone 30 a week i told him this is not enough for me but he dosent listen to anything anybody says also i have a job and work 5 days a week he wants me to come in every friday but i cant because of work but when i tell him i cant come in every week because i have work let me come on a day i have off im going to loose my job he ignores me and just says its ok just come next week like im just some jerk off i also told him the 20s are not enough its not working im still in pain again he ignores me and says its ok just come in next week this guy does care he wants me to come in every week cause hes banking my insurance out with these weekly visits i never heard of any doctors prescibing this medication weekly or bi weekly almost every doctor does monthly visits... so what i need is a new doctor that is willing to prescribe me 30mg roxys and thats not going to judge me or just try to give me some other type of medication because i litterley have tryed every pain meds known to man and this is the only thing that acually works. i was in a bad car accident in 2008 and i have a slipped disk 3 buldging disks and a herniated disk in my lower back and with my job im on my feet all day long so my pain has got so much worse since then i cant stand longer then 2 hours at a time because mt whole back just starts locking up and the pain is there for hours even when i take my meds it takes a while to go away it sucks.. so another problem of me finding a new doc is because i am only 22 and most doctors are not willing to prescribe someone my age this medication so i need a doctor that will give me what i need without judgement and without trying to give me non narcotic pain meds or very low dose pain meds because there not going to workand i dont even want to waste my time and my insurances money. i am willing to travel to any of the 5 borrows, long island and even jersey as long as i can get a monthly script ill even do bi weekly but i cant do this with my current doctor i have an appointment friday and i dont feel like loosing a half day of work for 30 20mg oxys thats going to be finished in 3 days its not even worth it anymore i tryed talking to my doctor but dont listen to s*** that i say and it gets me really annoyed so please if anybody can help me with a new doc you dont know how much that would help thank you very very much any answers are greatly appreciated..thanks

I have severe spinal stenosis and herniated disks with the MRI to prove it. I had a doctors prescribe me heavy opiods for 4 years before disappearing without notice. Every pain management doctor I've called or gone to will not write any scripts. They want to do injections, which I'm all for, but I have to wait two weeks for insurance approval and I'm in a ton of pain now. I cannot find a doctor to help me. I'm in Bergen County which is North Jersey. Can anyone please help?

hey i lost my doc to retirement and desperately need a doc in nj/ny who will prescribe oxy or methadone. i am already going through withdrawal and i cant afford to go running to the street. pus i have no idea how to even do that, i wouldn't even know who to ask. i have a real job and children so going to a clinic is not an option. please help me out. thank you so much.

I am very new to this site. I'm currently on oxycodone and oxycontin daily through my PCP doctor. Need to find pain management doctor to continue my meds. PCP dr feels more comfortable if I go through a pain dr. I cant find one that will write for the amount im already on. I live in upstate ny but can travel. Please help me with a doctor. I'm on disability for lupus and other medical problems.

They already have your pmp printed you just need the cash and mri. Gl. With getting 30mg anywhere! If you do pls let me know! But new law clearly states none to be written only for cancer, and terminally ill, or a short period like 10 days if you break a leg or something. And I got shot down again today, apparently no dr. likes my use of benzo. On xanax. I need heart surgery and was told I may not come off the ventilator due to my copd. So yes I have a 12 yr old. I'm a single mom. You'd think I may have just a slight panic disorder? All B/S! They talk about the big opiate epidemic well gee I wonder why? Got to find pain relief somehow since they took it away. They caused the epidemic in my opinion!

When you go in you got to get thru a guy who looks at your pmp, and your mri. He acted like the he didn't think the dr. Would see me but he said he would check. Making me feel hopeless. But the 1st visit I think is $225 the dr saw me. No nomore 30mg unless you are already still getting them, in my case my dr. In edison was going to prison for some tax and other B/S. He had a covering dr. Come in I was on 120 30mg every 20 days and 2 ovycontin 40mg a day as extended release. Soon as covering dr. Came he cut me to 4 15's a day and permanently took away my oxy extended release. So I ran out early of course went back to him and he d/c me for medication misuse gave me a 2 scripts for the road one for the 15's and one for the oxy extended release which was all I wanted back and I would have been fine but instead he d/c me and gave me a bad discharge letter. Totally uncalled for. He put me from 6 30's a day and 2 oxy 40 extended release to just 4 15s a day I run out a week early and I'm misusing my medication lol. So my point is if you been off or got lowered you can't get back on the 30's been on them for 10yrs and now can only get 20's. And most places want to give morphine now. But the cash place will def. Give you ,15's. See what he does maybe you can get 20's like I did? But he would pnly give me 2 a day plus my 40mg oxy. I asked him for at least 3 20's a day and he said next visit. I had to remind him then he was a wise guy and wrote 3 15's a day instead. But yes you will get but stingy, strict, follow ups are $175 a month and piz quiz everytime. It is better to have something better than nothing! And they love the cash! My case may have been different? I didn't know about the detering of anyone on benzos then. Maybe that's why I didn't get what I needed for my pain but it was definitely worth it. I left cause I'm disabled and have medicare couldn't afford to go but where I'm going now won't even give me an extended release just 4 20's.a day. So may see you back there if they take me? I just stopped going. That answer wasvfor kevin. Terry you don't have a problem if all you need is 10mg.

Thank you for your responses. Unfortunately, this is not a works comp. I think this is crazy and is really pathet. ic that a people have to suffer. The recovery time for the orthopedic hardware that was Placed in leg is 16 weeks. And that 16 weeks of no weight bearing then start weight-bearing and therapy. We are not even halfway through this. Spouse is literally screaming in pain not sleeping. He is at the point where he wants to stop blood thinner for never block

Shelley that was helpful to know bc I think my Dr will retire this yr. You said most docs are only prescribing morphine and something else I never heard of. Never heard of giving morphine ththought. I'm new to this and had same Dr for 5yrs.
So I have plenty of proof of severe pain post lung cancer op never take anything else, nothing. But 10mg immediate release oxycodone every 6hrs.
Will these docs prescribe? It doesn't seem like a lot to me. Just makes pain bearable. Any docs in Hudson county?

Sadly with tightening of dispensing restrictions even further,Post op pain relief is limited to x amount of days.Once that threshold is met non narcotic meds are the new law of the land.Most patients discharged are prescribed opiate like drugs to not exceed a 10 day supply.Frankly it's arbitrary and capricious in my opinion but this is the new climate of an anti opiate therapy.sadly creating many complications requiring readmission to a hospital setting for interventional care
.For everyone involved it only causes g more suffering and often just as agonizing for the loved ones of these patients undergoing this horrific nightmare.
