hello so heres my question i am looking for a new pain management doctor in either the 5 borrows or in new jersey that prescribe roxycodone/oxycodone 30mg i currently have a doctor in staten island who was prescribing me 45 roxys bi weekly then uped me to 60 30mg roxys bi weekly now he has me coming in every week and lowered me to 20mg oxycodone 30 a week i told him this is not enough for me but he dosent listen to anything anybody says also i have a job and work 5 days a week he wants me to come in every friday but i cant because of work but when i tell him i cant come in every week because i have work let me come on a day i have off im going to loose my job he ignores me and just says its ok just come next week like im just some jerk off i also told him the 20s are not enough its not working im still in pain again he ignores me and says its ok just come in next week this guy does care he wants me to come in every week cause hes banking my insurance out with these weekly visits i never heard of any doctors prescibing this medication weekly or bi weekly almost every doctor does monthly visits... so what i need is a new doctor that is willing to prescribe me 30mg roxys and thats not going to judge me or just try to give me some other type of medication because i litterley have tryed every pain meds known to man and this is the only thing that acually works. i was in a bad car accident in 2008 and i have a slipped disk 3 buldging disks and a herniated disk in my lower back and with my job im on my feet all day long so my pain has got so much worse since then i cant stand longer then 2 hours at a time because mt whole back just starts locking up and the pain is there for hours even when i take my meds it takes a while to go away it sucks.. so another problem of me finding a new doc is because i am only 22 and most doctors are not willing to prescribe someone my age this medication so i need a doctor that will give me what i need without judgement and without trying to give me non narcotic pain meds or very low dose pain meds because there not going to workand i dont even want to waste my time and my insurances money. i am willing to travel to any of the 5 borrows, long island and even jersey as long as i can get a monthly script ill even do bi weekly but i cant do this with my current doctor i have an appointment friday and i dont feel like loosing a half day of work for 30 20mg oxys thats going to be finished in 3 days its not even worth it anymore i tryed talking to my doctor but dont listen to s*** that i say and it gets me really annoyed so please if anybody can help me with a new doc you dont know how much that would help thank you very very much any answers are greatly appreciated..thanks
Working in Pain, sorry that was someone else and I can't find the name of who it was lol. How are you working in pain? Have you been able to get in anywhere or see anyone yet? I had been thinking can't you try and begin with starting the methadone clinic? Once you start a clinic and get on the program even if it's temp and then go to one of the doctors if that's what your concerned about is the methadone in your system, then once you belong to the program it is legal and they cannot turn you away from what I was told. The only thing would be I believe is then the pain management doctor would eventually either continue to write you that script and you would transfer over to just him because you obviously couldn't go to pain management and clinic but the doctor will either takeover writing your scripts for that and the other medications or he would decide if he starts having you stop the methadone slowly and get you on whatever else. I have been thinking of how your doing and really feel for your whole situation.
It is a disgrace the way this office has been treating patients... I am extremely disappointed in Dr. Dov Rand, the owner of the practice is going to let all his loyal patients suffer. All those loyal patients that waited patiently for Dr.Rand to come back to the practice after his little hiccup. He decides to just have the staff tell you that Dr. Rand is only prescribing Suboxone and that the first appointment is $375.00 and $175.00 thereafter. More cash in his hand again...Who raised the office visits to see Dr. Sloan at that Wayne office to $250.00.. it's Dr.Rands practice, so who raised the price and why is Dr. Sloan suffering the consequences as it's being said Dr. Sloan was arrested. What was he arrested for. Dr. Sloan's not at any of his other offices and those staff members say Dr. Sloan can't write those types of scripts anymore, so where is Dr. Sloan..and to add insult to injury his colleagues in New York will not see any of Dr. Sloan's Wayne, NJ patients if you were not a patient in New York. Dr. Rand has seriously done a grave disservice to all these Wayne, NJ patients.
Who was your doctor or was that meant for someone else?
That was my doctor who I suggested. He makes you get his current Mri and the nerve test. If you get those and have old records he will eventually write a script
I was with the same doctor 6 years, never gave a dirty U/A. His office was a couple of blocks from my job and he was only in that office Tuesday and Thursday 7-2 and I worked both days from 7-4 so he used to let me come in at 6:45 and it was ok if I showed up to work a few minutes late. He is also aware I had 2 weight loss surgeries the 2nd one landing me in icu for 2 weeks and causing me to have to have an additional 12 procedures just to try to stretch my stomach they cut it so small I couldn't even keep down water. That being said one Tuesday I had my appointment I was supposed to be there 6:45 I had just had a bit of an argument with my boss a couple of days before and I woke up late. I jumped up at 7:15 called work said I would be in by 7:45-8. I live 10 min from my job. I went into the doctors office first explained I woke up late was late for work and asked if I could reschedule for Thursday. She said no don't worry we will have u in and out in 10 minutes. I handed her my 250.00 and she said I had to give them a U/A. I said I just woke up, I peed when I woke up and I can't drink 6 cups of water like a normal person. It takes me 30 minutes to finish one cup, but I did give them the U/A, it was right under the line she didn't even try to use it. She dumped it saying it wasn't enough. I said I can not sit here 2 hours drinking water, I'm going to lose my job, is there something else you can do. She said she would Swab my mouth. I said fine, then she told me I didn't have enough saliva?? When I told her I couldn't wait it was all ready 8:30. They refused to see me anymore saying I refused a drug panel. The doctor really had the secretaries running the office and I know for a few months they were complaining he had a few people coming in before they were supposed to be opened. He had to stop doing that and they wouldn't even ever let me speak to him. I went to my primary care and explained what happened and she called them and told them you can't say she refused a drug panel when she paid you 50 for the drug panel, gave a U/A and allowed you to swab her mouth, and it's illegal to stop seeing her without at least giving her a one month prescription. So they allowed me to go in that last time and the secretary handed me half of my normal script. That was 14 months ago. I have not even been to another doctor to try to get another prescription. Obviously I started to get very sick and my ex husband has been on methadone for like 10 years so he gave me one of his 10mg methadone pills and it stopped the withdrawals but I'm in pain. I don't like to have to call doctors and go from one office to another and now if I do find a doctor that will write me a script now I really can't pass the drug panel because I have methadone in my system. I have never taken illegal street drugs in my life. I started taking pain meds when I got hurt and I needed them for the pain and your body becomes addicted to them. I would love to be able to go see a doctor and just be honest. I have been seeing my primary for 20 years, she knows the truth. I'm not getting all types of scripts. Some people are getting Xanax adderall oxycodone. I just want something for the pain but I'm in a position now where I can't just stop taking the methadone or I'll get sick. My ex laughs because he takes 170 mg a day. I take 10 but I still know I can't just stop and be able to work and function so I'm sort of stuck right now.
They shut down sloan in Wayne. Giving pts their records and nothing else. No referrals no new dr.
Does anyone that went to dr R. Marini know what happens on the first visit? Does he do a UA on or at visit? And will he write anything higher than 10mg oxycodone? Have DDD and pinched nerve in L5. Any help would be appreciated.
How could you have any scripts from Dr. Sloan? I was his patient they gave me 3 days to find a Dr. Said he isn't working is he still working I can't find any info about wether he is or isn't! What area are you from
No pharmacies want to fill dr sloan precipitous. Don't know what to do. Where do I go
Does anyone know a dr in south jersey. I have been going to pain management in cherry hill, NJ but they have lost all of their doctors except one. Now everyone is going to her and she is cutting/or changing meds. Need to find a new dr.
I need one as well! Mine of 3yrs got in trouble. Dr Patharkar. Need a pain mgmt Dr in jersey asap. Pls help. Tyvvm!
I am fortunate to have a P.M doctor that truly cares about his patients and understands what people that suffer from chronic and intractable pain go through on a daily basis. He goes to bat and stands up for his patients to the D.E.A and other government agency's and for that I'm grateful because I have friends that struggle to have just a little bit of relief because either their P.M doctor cut their medication drastically over the last 6 months or they can't find one that will listen to the level of pain that they are living in every day.
While we all know that their are a lot of people out there that just want to get high or financially profit from getting a legal prescription every 2 weeks or 30 days but then there are people like myself and others that need our medication because without it our quality of life would be greatly diminished.
I am truly blessed to know I have my Dr in my corner fighting for my right to keep my chronic pain minimized so I can work to support my family and participate in mine and my children's life again. It's sad that because of drug seekers making our government dictate what and how much a Dr can prescribe, people that can't take the pain anymore take their own life to escape it.
@starlight.. How are you? I was just curious to see how it was going with Dr Weinstein because I'm guessing that you've ben seeing him for a few months now if I remember correctly. I just saw him yesterday because he's not going to be in the office on this coming Monday July 18th so he came in yesterday when he is usually closed.
He was telling me that over the last 6 months he has discharged over 100 patients for breaking various rules in the contracts that we sign to start treatment. My appointment was at 4:10 yesterday and I was in and out in 20 mins because there were only 2 people waiting. When I started seeing him in Feb of 2012 in the old office it was jam packed and you would wait 2 to 2 1/2 hrs to be seen. My point is that he has gotten rid of a lot of people and that now 90% are there for legitimate chronic pain issues.
I'm glad that he weeded out most of the drug seekers and addicts or dealers looking to sell their scripts because now I'm in and out of there in 30 mins or less.. ??
Let me know how you're doing.
Beth
Hey@working in pain....can you tell me a little more about your doc and what happened? I know its hard getting up in the morning to do what you do as a parent and as a hard worker. Perhaps if you could tell me where you're from? Are you seeing a doc now for your back?
Hello - Please write back or something, would like to know how it went!
@working in pain. I can truly identify with ya. I was on a regimen of 6 30s for pain and was dropped down quickly with no explanation. I felt at first maybe it could be better but when due to go in for checkup (I was down to 3 a day) I was dropped totally. Turned out my Doc got in trouble for scripts and unfortunately all his patients chronic or not were dropped. I was left with 2 days of script abd had to find a doc. I was kn withdrawal for weeks till I found one who would take me but wouldnt prescribe oxy...just alternate like nucynta. Tried that for weeks and no relief until he switched me two months later to op20 2x day. Keeps the WDs back but pain remains. That was a year ago. There has been changes in protocol for pain meds and now in NY docs are required to take a course(used to be optional) for pain management. Ultimately will be using ER and non narcotic combos like Horizant and Zanaflex to ensure monitoring of patients case by case. A small amount of IR's could be implemented case to case but usually post procedure.
So that's where I'm at. I think because I stuck it out so long and kept trying that he finally switched to op even tho they are ER.
Well currently I have changed to a doc closer to home who was part of old doc's group. I mentioned to him about the possiblity and will know in a week or two. Until then, I can keep you posted.. hope this helped.
PS I mentioned in past but severe back injury, mutiple sugeries(failed) .
I don't feel the 10mg of methadone is helping with my pain. It is keeping me from getting sick but I am in pain. I have 4 herniated discs and I waitress so some days the pain is unbearable. As far as my parenting so far I've done a pretty good job, my son is a union worker graduated high school on time and my daughter maintains a 90 average in high school. We live in a nice area and we are very close. I have never taken street drugs. I don't take medication to feel high, I take it for pain, but as anyone who takes it knows when you try to stop it's not something your body will allow.
@How.. You still didn't answer my question. What was the reason you got kicked out of your pain management Dr? Every state has laws limiting the amount of narcotics that a Dr can prescribe so I asked you what was the specific reason for you being discharged?
Hey @Chris b...that can be a rough procedure on recovery....im guessing you got the bad UA from the office that did procedure?
No one wants medical marijuana lol ... Percs work and feel the best, this is for pain pills not cannabis lol
