Wow! Very sorry to read of what's been happening with your family.

Unfortunately, just being adult aged doesn't necessarily equate to someone's also being adult minded. There can still be a lot of immaturity involved. And, as a father, you obviously worry yourself sick about your children, even if you have little official say in the decisions they make, anymore.

Now, as to the place shredding her records, if she was not already a patient there, so they were just the basic records that were sent over from the treatment facility to get her started with a doctor, and she didn't keep the appointment, or contact them, then yes, they can do that. At that point they probably assumed she was not going to become their patient and saw no reason to keep them.

As to the immediate situation, if she is out of her medications and feeling that ill, she should go to the nearest emergency services facility. Along with life-threatening emergencies, they are also trained to deal with this type of thing. They understand the effects this type of withdrawal can have on someone and they will be able to help her.

However, she will definitely need to get set up with a regular doctor and keep her appointments, as scheduled. She's actually very lucky that they told her she can resubmit and still get an appointment there. Most doctors won't allow someone to do that, when they've missed their first appointment. There are even limits for how many appointments a long-term, regular patient can get away with missing.

Is there a reasons he has to see doctor's there? Does she have insurance to see someone else of her choosing?
