Hi K,

I'm not able to answer all of your questions, but as far as Norco's legal status in concerned, I'm finding information stating that it may be considered a schedule II drug (depending on the dosage). Other articles I've come across do verify that Norco is a Schedule II controlled substance in the United States because of its tendency to cause addiction and the ease with which it can be abused.

However, according to wiki, hydrocodone combination products containing up to 15mg of hydrocodone per dosage unit is listed in Schedule III medication in the United States. And Schedule II — Includes pure hydrocodone & formulations containing more than 15 mg of hydrocodone per dosage unit; whereas a written prescription is required for refills.

I don't know of any Norco products containing more than 10mg of hydrocodone, so there seems to be a bit of mixed information available regarding this topic.

Does anyone else have details on this?
