Do Acetaminophen And Ibuprofen Interact ?

I have a headache and want to take Advil (Ibuprofen) right now. Only thing is I am planning to take a Tylenol PM (Acetaminophen with Diphenhydramine) in about 2 hours to go to bed.

Does anybody know if it is okay to take Acetaminophen a couple hours after taking Ibuprofen??

Yes, as long as your doctor approves, they can be combined, and it is sometimes recommended that a person do so, to treat certain types of pain, such as severe headaches, and arthritis.

As a matter of fact, there is now a product available over the counter called Advil Dual Action, and it contains Ibuprofen, and Acetaminophen.

However, as I said, you should first make sure it is safe for you to take them, and make sure you don't exceed the recommended safe dosing amounts.

The FDA warns that Ibuprofen, and Acetaminophen may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation, and headache.
