Dizziness When Rising From Sleep And Lasting For A While
(Newest replies first)
Updated
I am dizzy when waking and unable to walk without holding onto a wall. It lasts for a while. This happens even if I take a short nap in the afternoon. It seems to last longer each time. I take melatonin at night. The only meds I take are Nexium and Celebrex.

orthostatic hyotension....
stand nd hold on when rising from a chair.
Hold onto the car when getting out from a ride. (I use the car parked next to me as well.) and ALWAYS park net to another car.!1
I have to agree with Mark on this, it could be due to a medication, or this issue could be cause by low blood pressure, and if that's the cause, then there can be several reasons for it, including dehydration, and only your doctor will be able to help you discover what it causing it.
However, you do need to be really cautious, orthostatic hypotension can be dangerous, since it can cause someone to faint, and possibly be hurt, if they fall in, or onto a dangerous item. Both Celebrex, and Nexium tend to cause hypertension as side effects.
How are you doing? Has there been any change?
Sounds like you might have low blood pressure or some type of cardiovascular issue.
I'd definitely goto your doctor and discuss this issue with your doctor because it maybe a warning sign of something more serious!
The medication maybe the cause, but it's better to be safe and have some simple tests to rule out the above issues.
Have you tried not taking the nexium and melatonin to see if it's the Celebrex those 2 you can do without but the Celebrex you might be able to change to a similar med just different manufacturer.
I have vertigo or meneers disease its caused by inner ear problems you should go to a ENT (ear nose and throat doctor they can help with that
