Diltiazem And Hair Loss

I have been taking diltiazem for at least 10yrs to control migraine headaches. I am 62 and am noticing thinning hair. Seems to have happened overnight. Has anyone experienced this and if so did you have regrowth after stopping the medicine

The FDA does list hair loss as being among the possible side effects of this medication, along with nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination.

And yes, it usually does reverse itself, once you stop taking it. However, please do not stop it abruptly, unless your doctor tells you to do so, a sudden cessation creates the risk of dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate.

You have been very helpful,thanks. I weaned off medicine slowly. Hopefully I will see improvement in my hair.
