Diltiazem - Inwood 180mg Sa Cap (ndc# 4335330889) (Top voted first)

I was using Cardizem CD 180MG caps but the VA changed me to DILTIAZEM (INWOOD) 180 MG SA CAP. Is your 180MG SA also a 24 hr. time release cap like the Cardizem?

The SA stand for sustained action, so it means the same as the CD that was listed with the name brand. My husband has been taking Diltiazem 24hr CD 120 mg tab prescribed by cardiologist, and purchased at local pharmacy. The VA furnishes this drug, however,they supply Diltiazem (Inwood) 120 mg SA tabs. Are the two pills exactly the same, or is one a brand name, and the other a generic? I need to know if they have the exact formulation, and/if there are any differences. My co-pay is very minimal, so I do not know whether to change pills, and get the second from the VA.

They are both generics, the only difference will be in the inactive ingredients used and possibly the time released mechanism of action.

The VA is generally very picky about medications, so you can be fairly certain that they'll be providing a reliable and effective medication.
