I use the drug daily and found a problem with 240mg XR in a single dose. It took several hours to activate and the effect fell after 16hours. However splitting the product which is a combination of uncoated and single coated medication worked perfectly. However doctors tend to leave off the suffix and the pharmacy supplied CD which is a blend of uncoated, single coated and double coated. CD might last a bit longer but it didn't work for me as the medications were out of phase for twice daily dosing. Only XR twice daily works for me to control a fast pulse.

Can I take Diltiazem at night before bedtime instead of the morning? I am changing medication from Nifedipine to Diltiazem. I always took the Nifedipine before bedtime.

I have been taking diltiazem 24hr ER 120 MG cap. Just received a new prescription that my Dr called in to our mail order pharmacy and what I got was diltiazem HCL ER (dilt-xr)caps 120mg are these the same thing? Thanks!

I used to have Teva-Diltiazem ER 240mg (ditiazem HCL XR) and recently the pharmacist gave me instead Co-Diltiazem T 240mg (Ditiazem HCL XR). The later pills size are much bigger why? Is there a difference between the two? I'm told that they are none.

I was on 12.5 mg hydrochlorothiazide, 1xd and 20 mg enalipril 2xd, for blood pressure control. Pace maker tracing revealed periodical instants of atria. As a result, doctor prescribed er diltiazem hcl, 180 mg 1xd, in lieu the enalipril. My blood pressure is running much higher since this change. Can enalipril be taken in combination with er diltiazem hcl to aid in the blood pressure control?

Sorry you r having trouble, they should not be changing your medicine unless your doctor changed it, which you would have known. Mine was changed, differant Pharm company, I had problems, told the pharmacy I wanted my DiltazemER120 from no one but Sun Pharma. no more problems. the Pharmacy should never have changed it. I would tell them you want what has worked for you, if they did not have yours, they give a sub, the thing is once you leave the store it is yours,I had it put in my file, no one but Pharma. Good luck and don't listen to them telling you they are the same. call your doctor and tell him you want what works for you, period!! good luck, feel better

I have been taking Diltiazem ER 360 for appox 8 years. When they filled my last prescription they gave me Diltiamzem CD 24 hr (says Cardizem on the pill). Today was my first does of the new medication and my lips feel alittle tingly. My pharmacist stated that the medications were the same. I could be all in my head as I seem to worry and get anxious easily. Has anyone else had this happened.

wow!!!!! never ever heard this before, I have been on Diltizam 120 for years, before that was Cardizem 120 they are both supposed to be the same, I would get off that real quick and see another doctor or get an X-Ray or something. That is unreal, I wish you the best in getting it solved

Since taking diltiazem 120/24 about three weeks ago, my stomach has swollen greatly, to where I appear to be 8 months pregnant. Further, the abdomen is drumhead tight. Indeed, it feels and sounds like a drum.
My doctor says it is gas and is not an uncommon side effect to this drug. Is my case unique or common?
