I've heard that the hydrocodones I take every so often could create a + result? Mine was a send out. Flipped out this could happen to me! ## So if I took dilaudid but have a script for hydrocodone will I pass my mouth swab ## I took bunch of dilaudid and i did not give a dirty urine for opiates, so I don't know why people are saying it shows up when it does not... ## Because they're not testing for it specifically ## dilaudid is hydromorphone in the morphone or morphine family , Hydrocodone is viccodin or codone from the codine family . they are all metabolized differently in your ...

What I do take would keep most people from sedated but I still have some pain and can't seem to do much with or without my meds. any suggestions? ## Sorry to hear about your challenges with pain. If I could suggest anything that might be of help, it would be to include natural treatment options that can safely be used alongside your medication(s) as a sort of adjunctive therapy. Depending on what type of pain your dealing with, I do know that some medical marijuana clinics offer a CBD/THC 50/50 concentrate that your spray a few times in your mouth and it helps relieve a very noticeable amount of pain in ...
Just switched from methadone 30mg daily for chronic neck pain. Herniated c3456. I was taking it 3x a day and it just stopped working. PM Dr switched me to dilauded 8mg 3xs a day. How ever it last about 3-4 hours. Is this normal ## You may need to speak to your doctor about adjusting the dose, so it works longer, or perhaps switching to the time released formulation to keep your pain under control longer. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How long have you been taking it? ## 5 days now. I called my Dr he told me in the visit that it may not last ## I have been taking methadone 5 mg 3 times a day, I asked my dr to ween me off ...

The NIH warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. How much is too much really depends on your tolerance to opiates, and whether or not you follow your doctor's prescribing instructions. Are you on any other medications?

I've been taking 2-4 norco 5-325 almost daily for about 3 months. I have large cysts on my ovaries along with endometriosis and adanonmyosis. I'm in pain about 3 weeks out of the month. I'm having surgery on Thursday the 11th to remove the cysts and one ovary and burning the endometriosis tissue. I ran out of pills a few days ago and of course my doctor is on vacation and not responding. My friend has hydromorphone left over from a old surgery/ injury but what I've read says not to take it before surgery. I'm having some withdrawal symptoms and I'm worried the withdrawal will affect the surgery but I'm worried about taking themy before surgery also. I'm in a lot of pain and plain tylenol is not helping. ## I think in this unique situation it would probabl...
Hello, first post here, I'm a 19 year old male, I've been doing opiates for a little over two years now, by illegitimate ways, I do have a herniated disc (L4-L5) and a pinched nerve root in my left leg, over the course of the two years I have gone up and down in dosages, ranging from 30mgs a day to now 4-12mgs a day. I have been snorting the medication though. I'm at a point in my life where I want to leave this problem behind and move on with my life, but for some reason there is something holding me back from accomplishing it. My withdrawals are minimal at most, minor discomfort, foggy head and teary eyes, I mostly have problems with the mental aspect of it. I have always had issues with my mood, and opiates seemed to help regulate it, and its been so long since Ive been s...
I have chronic moderate pain on my side at the bottom of my ribs from a fall into my bath tub which drug would be better Mario's or dilaudid? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you doing? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Norco contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. Dilaudid contains the active ingredient Hydromorphone and it is the stronger of the two. It only takes 1.25mgs of it to be equivalent to 5mgs of the Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, it really depends on which one works best for you. Have you taken either of them, before? ## Well for one thing you spelled dilaudid correctly!
Hello; Can anyone tell the difference between manufacturers of oral dilaudid 2mg & 4mg? Is one, from your own experience, better than another? Thanx. ## Hi Lempie, I personally don't have any experience with Dilaudid, however I can tell you that depending on the manufacturer, the main differences will be the inactive ingredients. Since everyone's body chemistry is different, even if one person has success with Dilaudid from a certain manufacturer, that doesn't necessarily mean that you will. The only way to tell if a medication is going to work for you is to try it for yourself. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Dilaudid Details I hope this insight helps! ## Rhodes - Rhodes - Rhodes; smaller pill less filler no insoluble microcrystalline cellulose. Malla...
I'm a sickle cell disease patient and in the hospital, having pains but the pills aren't working for my pain for the last 3 days. What are my rights to receive pain meds intravenously? ## Dear Gwen, Sorry to hear about your predicament with a lack of pain relief... It seems to me that doctors will only prescribe what they see fit based on their personal/moral standards (which can be very unpredictable unless you have a good close relationship with your provider). Ethically and lawfully, they "should be" prescribing whatever is necessary for the well-being of their patients...which they took an oath for. However, it goes without saying that many doctors these days have been abusing the system and are scared to write for anything too strong (or out of the ordinary) for fea...

How are you? Has there been any change? What symptoms do you equate to feeling like you were having a heart attack? Why were you given Dilaudid? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications?
My dr lied to me and said she was giving me 2mg and .5 of oral dilaudid. When I explained .5 didn't do s*** for me last night, she said she would up the doses so cold get some sleep. I was up till after 4 am crying for the last 3 weeks. ## Hello, Heather! How are you? There is no .5mg of oral Dialudid available in the U.S. The dosing starts at 2mgs. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What do you feel your doctor lied about? I apologize, but I'm not understanding what you're asking. ## I usually take 8 mg dilaudid every 2-3 hours. By mistake I took two 8mg at the same time. I have been on one form or another of narcotics for many years due to a...

Are my dilaudid pills instant release ## Hello, Maxwell! How are you? No, there are no instant release Dilaudid tablets. These are 2mg regular release tablets, so they start working about 15 to 20 minutes after you take them. This medication is a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## There are Dilaudid extended release out there they come in 20 mg and they work very well for pain. ## Sooo yes actually they ARE considered "instant" release. You stated they are not IR, but they start working around 20 minutes after you take them? ? Just like an aspirin, percoset, ect,ect,ect.....
My 50-year old brother started taking dilaudid 14 months ago. At this point he takes about 48 mg daily. He originally started on it due to "mild" tennis elbow. I put the "mild" in quotation marks because I accompanied him to the radiologist and that is what they read out from the MRI. He has since claimed that both elbows are affected (very rare) and now he has pain in both hips. He has only had arthroscopic surgery - no major surgery requiring serious pain medication. Yet he continues to take dilaudid and even claims he still has serious, chronic pain. He has not worked in 14 months, he spends most of his time in bed and has stopped doing all he enjoys. When challenged, my brother claims I don't understand what it's like to have chronic pain. Yet I can't hel...
I am taking 2 mg dilaudid for sciatica and muscle spasms prescribed by my doctor. If i cut the 2 mg dilaudid in half and take the whole thing, will it work faster in my system? It is not time released. ## No, it will still take about 15 to 20 minutes to start working. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Monica, No that won't speed the analgesia effect derived from taking oral Dilaudid tablets. You may wish to speak to your provider about an alternate medication. Oral Dilaudid especially in small incremental doses has little analgesic effect when pain is nerve or muscular in nature. Parental or IV route of admi...
My sister is under pain management and ran out of her dilaudid the day before her refill and so I gave her 2 of my percocet 10/325. She was given a drug screen to be sent to the lab and freaked out, worried the percocet would show up so she put powder from one of her lyrica pills in the urine! What do you think the lab report will show? ## She should be prepared to be dismissed. That is the most desperately ridiculous act I've ever heard of. Persons unable to follow medication directions should not be prescribed them. Even an irresponsible frightened child wouldn't have resorted to theft level. I suggest she seek professional assistance to have a mental and or chemical dependency evaluation conducted. Just being real.
