Dilaudid Vs Hydromorphone
UpdatedDoes it matter if the pill with the M on one side and the 4 on the other are either hydromorphone or dilaudid for what kind of strength or the effects you get from it? Also is there such a thing as timed release either one of those?

Hello, James! How are you?
Hydromorphone is the active ingredient in Dilaudid, so that is what the generics are called.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
The time released formulation is called Exalgo.
Is there anything else I can help with?
