How much would a 1mg of IV Dilaudid cost on average?

There is really no way to even guess, because it's going to vary greatly from area to area.

At a hospital, the price will be considerable high, because they have to factor in all associated expenses, such as the pay of the nurse that sets up the IV, the pharmacist that fills the drug order and etc.

Many people are surprised when hospital or emergency rooms charges are so high for medications, but most don't stop to consider all the expenses that have to be included in those charges, in order to afford you the best medical care.

The hospitals do charge a lot. On my hospital bill the actual medication cost was under $3, but for the IV injection of it done twice, the bill states $286 each time, although the IV was already set up even before the medication injection. Do it look like a fair fee?
