Different Manufacturers

HI, I have been taking Metoprolol since July . In the 7 months I have been taking it, they have changed the manufacturer three times. With such severe side effects, I don't care if it is the same pill, the filler is essential to the pill and how your body reacts to the pill. It is really frusterating to me that they keep on changing the manufacturer as they please and just saying it is the same pill. I was pretty upset the last time they changed the manufacturer because I was right in the middle of a big 3 day exam, and that was the last thing I needed. But actually what I noticed, I started to feel 100 percent better when I got on I think it is called TAB. The TAETH I was taking, I don't know what the problem was, but after about 3 months of taking it, I started to get really sick in December. Not only was I sick, but I passed out and had a seisure, while I was on the TAETH. Since I have been on the TAB, it has been like 3 days, I feel so much better. And I don't know, maybe I just needed a stronger pill. At first when I started getting sick in December, I really didn't think it had anything to do with the pill I was taking. I didn't even think about manufacturer when I started getting sick. Does any one know anything else about the different manufacturers of this pill? Why are they produced by only certain manufacturers of the pill at different times? And only one manufactuer is made available at a time. The pharmacist told me there was a recall on the Taeth. Does anyone know more information about that?

I take Metoprol daily. I was initially obtaining my pills from Walgreen's. It helped, but I still experienced occasional atrial fib. I happened to switch to WalMart which obtains their Metoprolol from a different generic manufacturer. It's the same doseage, and now I have no symptoms. There IS a difference among the generics. If your dose isn't working, you might want to consider trying generics from another manufacturer before increasing the doseage.
There are allowable differences in generic medications, so sometimes an abrupt switch can cause a problem.
