Diclofenac Sod 75mg Tab Ec

I was given diclofenac sod 75mg for joint pain. I also have a severe fluid retention problem which I take meds. for also, could this contribute to this problem? I have been retaining fluids more than usual since I have been taking this med.

Hi ann,

It is true that Diclofenac's side effects may also be contributing to the fluid retention. I posted a list of a few of them below for your own reference:

diarrhea
constipation
gas or bloating
unexplained weight gain
swelling of the eyes, face, tongue, lips, throat, arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs

To help with fluid retention, I would also recommend staying away from foods that are high in sodium: (particularly frozen/packaged foods, as they usually contain well over 500mgs of sodium per serving). Reason being is that salt has a tendency to promote fluid retention and bloating.
