Sincerely, Dana. ## Dana, The drug Bendictine you are referring to was reported to cause birth defects in some cases. But a similar drug is prescribed today and it's called Diclectin. Funny how some people will say to stay away from something while others say it's perfectly safe. I think it's a matter of speaking to at least several physicians and following your intuition, as far as what feels right for you and who you trust. 701 REPLIES UpdatedI was born in 1966 I was born "pigeon toed wore braces on my legs for 6yrs and wore straight bar brace on my feet at night. At one point my Doctor informed my mother he would have to break my legs below the knee and turn my legs. As an adult I had two children my first OB doctor did not inform me that my uterus was backward, my son almost died. My second OB doctor told me. I had emergency csection with my son and a planned C-section with my daughter. About 4 years ago I found out I had a premature heart beat and "sagging heart". I know all of this is related to bendectin because no one in my family either side had these issues.
