Diamox Question

I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri and put on Diamox. I live up north and want to relax in the sun while we still have it, but the bottle says to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Why does it say that?

Because many medications, such as Diamox, make you more sensitive to the effects of the sun, which means you could burn much sooner than you expect, or develop heat stroke much faster than your normally would.

Thus, sun exposure should be avoided. However, if you really want to spend time out in it and your doctor approves, then you should make sure to cover as much of your body as possible and use a high SPF sun protectant on any exposed skin.

Are there any other questions I can help with?
