Shire US discontinued the mfg of DextroStat, at the end of the year 2007. Another bought out the license to produce DextroStat, but, it was also discontinued by Phys Total Care at the end of 2008, only available in 2008 in 5 mg, as the 10 mg was discontinued. I believe the license/patent, had expired, as well, as "Dextrostat" was a patented license by Richwood Pharmaceuticals of Kentucky beginning in the year 1994, and, ShireUS bought the patent rights, and, merged Richwood into ShireUS, with headquarters, in, Wayne PA 19087 soon after 9/11/2001. I had been taking the non-generic form of dextrostat for 7 years (30 mg 3 times a day) which worked fine for me. Back in May (??) my pharmacist advised me that dextrostat was no longer available but the generic dextrostat was. I tried the generic dextrostat which is supposed to be exactly the same drug as dextrostat, but it is not working for me. It might be the same in books but my body knows there is a huge difference. It's like I am not taking anything at all. I take dextrostat because I suffered a stroke which made me slow in speech, thinking and movement and I also suffer with narcolepsy. I am wondering about trying Vyvance to treat narcolepsy. I currently take dextrostat 30 mg 3 times a day and since it is now generic dextrostat, it is absolutely not effective at all. Can I have feedback either on Vyvanse or any other drugs that you have found to be effective. Who makes and labels a round yellow pill with the imprint RP 110? ## Hi RE, I actually found two close matches with a very similar description. The first one being a round yellow scored tablet marked with RP on one side and 51 on the other. It's reportedly known as Dextrostat 5mgs (Dextroamphetamine Sulfate), and is manufactured by Shire here in the US. The other pill I came across is a round pink chewable tablet marked with RP 110, and is identified as Equate brand - Extra Strength Gas Relief; containing 125mgs of Simethicome. My thoughts are that maybe the manufacturer of the first pill (Shire) could potentially be the same company who makes yours, judging from the type of imprint it has. So that may be worth looking into as well. Hope this helps!

Dextroa-topics Dextrostat Any mfg. of Dextromethamphetaminesulfate. Yellow diet pill RP on one side possibly 15 on the reverse. I need an effective diet pill badly. I took it in the 1970's & it was excellent. After 2 years I never needed it again. Now 35 years later I do & can't find it, or anyone to perscribe it. HELP!ROFA

I have gained 10 pounds since the doctor put me on this drug to improve my concentration.. He says he has never heard of this...that people generally lose weight. I haven't been eating more, in fact I have eaten less. I have had more energy and it has helped my concentration, but the weight gain is horrible!!!!????? ## Has he done any other tests to rule out other reasons for the sudden weight gain? ## Yes, everything else checks out fine..thyroid etc. He can't figure it out. ## Don't take I don't know for an answer. Thank you! ## The closes possible match I was able to find was a round yellow pill with RP on one side and 51 on the other. There's a picture of it here. If you feel this is a match then it is a Dextrostat 5 mg, most commonly used to help with concentration, attention span, emotional control, and also helps with overactive/restless behavior.
