Dexilant - Manufactured In Japan

I was given a sample (60mg) and it reads "Product of Japan. Distributed by Deerfield, Illinois". I heard we need to be careful of products coming from another country. Is it safe? Thank you.

Generally, when you see those warnings, it is referring to products that are not approved for sale in the U.S. or their over the counter products.

There are many medications on the U.S. market that are manufactured in Japan, as well as other countries, but they are approved to be sold and used here. They are held to the same strict standards of FDA approval as other products are, that are manufactured in the U.S.

Dexilant contains the active ingredient Dexlansoprazole, it is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach, to treat or prevent conditions such as ulcers, heartburn, Gastritis and GERD.
