Dentist Kept My Prescription.

My dentist prescribed me 5 vicodin pills for a procedure. I went to the pharmacy to fill them and followed their directions. Ended up taking only 3 out of the 5 and they kept rest (which I found weird) that I had to pay for. Anyone know why?

It was vallum they took, my mistake. I did ask and they said they need to dispose of them and sent me home with a prescription of or vicodin. I just thought it was weird because I had to pay out of pocket for that and I hate to throw away money. Could've saved them for my next visit cause I'm am getting a lot of work done. Which is costing my arm and my fiancé's leg!

Unless you're under a pain management contract that requires a pill count, then you don't have to take pills with you, so they may have thought you were turning them in to be disposed of, which is usually why people do that. Did you ask them about it?

The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
