Deltacortril Prednisolone Used For Bells Palsy?

Recently I had an absess, went on antibiotics and got the tooth removed. At the same time my left hand side of my face pulled down somewhat - my lips at the side, my eyelid, hard to talk or smile, face distorted. My doctor says it might be Bells Palsy. Does this normally happen with an absess or maybe they are not related? Is Bells Palsy temporary? My Doctor prescribed the Deltacortil Ent 5mg starting with 8 for the first 4 days then reducing after that. Can you advise on any of this, Thanks

I've been diagnosed with mild facial paralysis. I'm 6 ft 1 in and weigh 103 kg. 35 yrs male Asian. I've been prescribed tab deltacortil 5 mg 6 tabs thrice a day for 7 days. That's 18 tabs a day ! Isn't it too much for a steroid. Additionally acylex tab 200 mg 5 times a day for 7 days. Kindly educate me on this. Regards b

It's basically when something causes paralysis of some of the facial nerves and yes, it can sometimes be caused from a bad infection that spreads. The swelling that can occur can cause compression of the facial nerves.

Usually corticosteroids, such as what you have been prescribed improve the condition, though it does have to be caught early for them to be effective.
