Delaying Periods And Abnormal Cycles

I have been taking the pill for 6 months and have noticed my period is better during certain months, but crazy the following month. I have also not had a normal color. Often been brown and clotty. Does this pill change the color and delay? I have been getting my period on days that are not the sugar pill. Also been receiving PMS symptoms for up to two week straight before bleeding. If my period is not syncing with the pill cycle, is it still working correctly?

As to the color, brown blood is old blood, that blood that has been sitting in your uterus from your last period that wasn't expelled. It is normal and nothing to worry about.

The clots are usually due to elevated estrogen levels, according to the NIH, since taking oral contraceptives changes your natural hormone levels.

Spotting and irregular bleeding are listed as normal side effects, according to FDA reports and yes, it will still work correctly, as long as you don't miss taking any pills.
