Daytrana Patches Expired?

Yes, the patches are ok. If anything, they may lose some potency but it won't harm you. Many times, expiration dates are set to facilitate new purchases.

Hello Kevin,

According to the manufactures website the patches lose potency and do not become dangerous as you said, however, while there is an obvious benefit for them to have you purchase new patches that isn't the reason that they put the expiration date on the patch. Expiration dates on medicines are a requirement from the FDA even when there is no danger present from the expiration. All medicines, prescription or over the counter, should have an expiration date or best used by date.

The reason the FDA does this is pretty simple, you take medicine for it to do a specific job and if it's potency has been diminished or it is dangerous to administer then you shouldn't be taking the medicine. It's really as simple as that.
