My son has been suspended from school for having a bottle of dark blue capsules with no inscription in his car on school grounds, he said he found them at his grandfather's house, but he threw away the box, the police can't identify the pills so they will be sent to forensic lab which could take 6 months, my son is a Junior in high school, class president, makes A's and B's and if we can't get this pill identified, he may have to repeat his junior year. He has never beenin trouble before now. Someone please help!

I'm sorry, but if there are no markings, it is going to be very difficult to determine what these capsules contain. The lab test is probably the only solution.

We can, however, rule them out as being a U.S. manufactured prescription medication, because they are all required to have unique imprints to enable their identification.

With no markings, there is a very big likelihood that it's an over the counter product, but there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication, or an illicit substance.

Does his grandfather have any idea what they were?

Did the police have any ideas?
