Daily Usage Of Lonopin 40 Mg Injections

I am 15 weeks pregnant and my doctor advised me to take Lonopin inj. 40 mg {lo molecular weight heparin} daily. For the past two months I have been using this injection regularly. Are there any possible side effects for the growing baby?

Lonopin (also known as Lovenox) is a sterile aqueous solution containing Enoxaparin Sodium, a Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH), intended for subcutaneous use.

Lonopin is indicated for the prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which may lead to pulmonary embolism (PE):

-in patients undergoing abdominal surgery who are at risk for thromboembolic complications.
-in patients undergoing hip replacement surgery, during and following hospitalization.
-in patients undergoing knee replacement surgery.
-in medical patients who are at risk for thromboembolic complications due to severely restricted mobility during acute illness.

In regards to pregnancy and infant safety, I wasn't able to locate much details, but what little bit I did find is listed below:

Lonopin does not cross the placenta, and is not expected to result in fetal exposure to the drug. Human data from a retrospective cohort study, which included 693 live births, suggest that Lovenox does not increase the risk of major developmental abnormalities. Based on animal data, enoxaparin is not predicted to increase the risk of major developmental abnormalities.

my doctor has given lonopin injection when the platelet count were low as 52000 only . and she didnt monitered it for a month later she stopped it .in pre`gnancy as a result my platelet came low as 18000 and then i had a misscarraige a sewer bleeding dissorder causing death of my son .and later i was treated with high stereoids.

hello i am priyanka...I have been taking lonopin 40mg from nov 9th 2013 onwards...now i am 8week 7days pregnant.I had 2 miscarriages in 2011 and 2012.so i am curious will this injection help my pregnancy and i want to know lonopin did any favour to u?like did u get good baby and normal delivery without any complications like others...because i am so obsessed with this preg thing.nobody in my friends haven't heard about this.pls help me. you are my only hope now.

I got miscarage two times so third time doctor suggested me tke lonopin injection daily three mnths but male baby born in seven mnths he wasalive for five days and died because his blood was not cloting so is this because of injection.

I had two miscarriage in the past. and third time I am chance . but that time also miscarriage no heartbeat found. my doctor suggest me lonopin 40 mg daily for 4th week. I take only 8 day that inj. and after that bleeding is happen and pain . so doctor advice me to DNC. and after that she advice to genetic test. please advice me what I do.

Say about lonopin and its effect I m worry to long term uses of injection. I am regularly using this injection since more then 2 week whereas my pregnancy time is more then seven weels . what will be effect of this injection on baby when he/she take the born

My wife lost 2 pregnancy in 3 years and 6 month, after that we meet one doctor, he diagnose lots of thing, after that my wife become again pregnant, doctor started Exhep 40 mg injection regularly, in tummy, for the protection of baby and another medicine also. But again same problem started she feal pain in lower abdomen, after that little bit bleeding start we inform our doctor, he advice for pause 500, in three time in a day, but blood was not stop, after 22 hrs doctor started one more injection, but the case was same every moment the bleeding was more, after two days doctor suggests for USG, But no more we lost one more baby.

This is umesh frm pune. I read ur post and I feel to post same. My wife is taking lonopin 40 mg since 4 the week. And nothing to worry about side effect. Till everything is ok and right now 7 months has completed baby growth and everything is ok.
