Driving Under Ambien

I DROVE AFTER TAKING AMBIEN AND DON'T REMEMBER EVEN GETTING IN THE CAR. HAS PULLED OVER AND CHARGED WITH DUI. I DON'T REMEMBER THE ENTIRE THING....VERY SCARED PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE.

I hope that you got an attorney and fought the case , your doctor should have warned you of the possible effects that were possible, not to take away from your own accountability to read your warnings, but a lawyer should be able to get the charges dropped

A lawyer may or may not be able to get the charges dropped. It is considered just as illegal and dangerous to drive under the influence of medications, as it is to drive under the influence of alcohol.

This has happened to many people and, in most cases, the charges do not get dropped, because it is considered the person's responsibility to be careful and make sure they do not drive under such conditions.

This is something that is very clearly warned about in the Ambien information.

So to the original post, yes, such things have happened to other people.

I am very sorry it happened to you, but the only thing I can really suggest is that since Ambien affects you in this way, you should stop using it and contact your doctor for an alternative.

I do wish you luck on the DUI charge and hope someone can get it dropped for you, since no one deserves such a thing, when they had no choice in the matter, because of a medication.
