Dr Increased Rx

I HAVE BEEN TAKING 15 MG OF OXYCODONE...1TAB 4XDAY. FOR 2 YRS. DR. CHANGED RX TO MS CONTIN 30MG....1TAB EVERY12 HRS. WONDER WHY?

My guess would be there really is no change, execpt for how many times you take it. Your mg add up to 60, even though your doctor changed your dosage. If you feel concerned I would notify your doctor.

Ms Cotin is a different drug(morphine). MS Cotin would be controled release oxycodone.

I am on ms contin 60mg ea 12 hrs as it's an er ( extended relief) med. It is also stronger than the oxy. It works as a slow time release thru out the day. If it's not working U can ask him 4 the oxy w/ it 4 breakthru pain. They can & should give both. I take diaudid 4 my breakthru, only when I really need it !!!

I m on avinza, same as MS-COTIN,why is a question between you an your Dr., MS-COTIN, an Avinza are morphine sulfate they are 99% pure morphine, oxycodone is a entirely different drug, most Dr.s are replacing all instant release medications to extended release, a person in pain is willing to work with their Dr. as a good Dr. is hard to find, many DR.s have their states health board of professionals monitoring their prescription practices along with states an dea tracking narcotic use
