Doxycycline For Dental Work

Can I take Doxycyline before dental fillings..I have knee and elbow metal replacements..

Is this what your doctor has instructed you to take?

Usually, the antibiotic given before dental work is Amoxicillin. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

It's usually just one dose, pre-procedure to prevent possible infection, similarly to what many heart patients take.
