This medication is used to help treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate, such as difficulty urinating. It can also be used to treat high blood pressure.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension.

It is a q1-selective alpha blocker that inhibits the binding of norepinephrine to the alpha-1 receptors on the membrane of vascular smooth muscle cells. This decreases peripheral vascular resistance leading to decreased blood pressure.

yes, the Dr. took away the hydralazine and clonidine and gave me adalet. How does that function? Is it usually very effective?

Adalat contains the active ingredient Nifedipine, it is a calcium channel blocker that's frequently used to treat such conditions. It works by causing peripheral vascular dilation.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, dizziness and hypotension.

And yes, it has worked well for many people.

Hiya, my doc has prescribed doxazosin for high bp but it's making me ill - rapid heart beat, shortness of breath and tremors, should I stop taking n go back to the gp?

So the other bph drugs all made me extremely tired. My current doctor says this drug only targets the bladder and prostate muscles. I find that hard to believe. After my first dose of doxazosin I almost couldnt finish my 2 mile walk today(I bike 100 miles per week at 15 mph). So I think it relaxes all your muscles - if it helps with blood pressure it must act on the heart. And then all your muscles right?
