I have taken verapamil hydrochloride 180/240 for the past 12 months. I had septacemia, infected endocarditis & leaking valve. Within six months bone pain became quite severe & shakes which did not allow holding a cup of tea etc. So I went onto Diltiazem! Everything seems OK but this medication does not seem to reduce blood pressure. In fact initially when I take it every morning it seems to take some time to kick in & I find this quite distressing. Any comments?

It is normal for any medication to take awhile to start to work, after taking it, but it isn't lowering your blood pressure, it may not be the right medication for you.
The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination.
What dosage are you taking of the Diltiazem? It might not be equivalent.
