Cap is an abbreviation for capsule. I think maybe the SR is what threw you off. SR means sustained release. (Slower release over more time than a normal capsule.) In summary, it is a capsule for oral intake, and not a suppository!

I know this is an older post, but I would love to add some details here for anyone else seeking information on using DHEA.

It is a hormone that's made naturally by the human body and it is available as an over the counter supplement.

It can help with some hormone issues, but it is not a blanket fix for all hormonal imbalances.

Someone suffering hormonal problems should have their hormone levels tested to see what specific ones are low and need supplemented, because taking the wrong thing could just create more issues.

For instance, most conventional medical thinking assumes that all woman with menstrual irregularities or who have started menopause are low in estrogen, but that is usually not the case.

Most such issues are actually caused because they still produce adequate amounts of estrogen, but are low in progesterone, or not producing any of it naturally, anymore.

And DHEA is a precursor of testosterone and estrogen, so it doesn't help with progesterone. Thus, if you're low in it and have good levels of estrogen, it could actually just make your problems much worse.
