D Amphetamine Salt Com Xr

I have a 9 year old son on this medication. Since he has started he has been insomniac and starting to argue with me a lot more an even his teacher. Any tips?

The best suggestion I can give would be to take him off this drug. Being only 9 years old and taking "legal speed" probably has a lot more repercussions than doctors let off telling you.

In my opinion the best way to stay focused is to write lists, work on goal setting, exercise (outdoors, if at all possible); to help get rid of excess energy and to refresh the mind. I'd also recommend a diet comprised of more fresh fruits and vegetables. There are also many natural supplements that can be used to help increase focus, i.e.: Ginkgo Biloba, various Essential Oils & herbs, Valerian root, etc. I personally think that green and black tea are also helpful when lacking "mental clarity".

When kids are overactive, society tends to think that something's wrong with them and they need to have medication. But in reality they just need an outlet to help let off some steam. Kids will always be kids and I refuse to believe that Amphetamine (speed) is the answer.
