I took Cymbalta (generic given by pharmacy), Duloxetine, 60 mg for depression for about three years. December 2014, increased depression, psychopharmocologist raised to 90 mg. Within a month had severe gastroenteritis first time. Increased daily indigestion, bad taste in mouth, bitter, metallic, ongoing. Second time two weeks later. Went to primary care doctor. Abdominal exam ok. Blood work done and sent for abdominal ultrasound. And Gastroenterologist visit. Blood work fine. Ultrasound done and clear. Future testing planned. Had third gastroenteritis. Called psychopharmocologist when ruled out other causes. He agreed Cymbalta the problem. Was lowered to 60 mg. Now weekly episode of extreme nausea and vomiting. By the way, depression symptoms responded well. That's the good part. Yes...

I had a brain surgery for an aneurysm 4 years ago, non ruptured. I was left with severe depression...........NO antidepressant has worked, started cymbalta, and went from 164lbs-180 in 4 weeks.............I think not. I was at 160 due to abilify, was getting of that...was 151 before that. I consider these meds poison. My face looks swollen. But now I feel GREAT! So it is a choice, my physical health, of mental......maybe I will be ok, don't know. I am doing what a writer above did. I am pouring out half, take for a week, then half from the half, take for a week. .. then take the fourth of a capsule remaining for a week. I am a RN, and it sounds safe, the way we would titrate patients........so here I go............let you know how I do as I go. . ## I am 6 weeks - cold turkey - free...

I have been on a variety of antidepressants over the last 7 years, most recently Cymbalta for the last 18-24 months. From Nov 2013 - Nov 2014 I had been taking 90 MG daily. While my dose increase from 60-90 MG helped at first, after a very short time my skin/face became horrible and no matter what I have done for the last year nothing has helped. But I stuck with it because I was mentally/emotionally feeling better. Then last summer/fall it had gotten to the point where I no longer felt the meds were helping me at all - in fact, I physically was feeling horrible majority of the time and I no longer felt any benefit of taking it (no energy, no motivation, nauseous, sick at times, headaches, horrible sweating and I was ALWAYS hot, memory loss and confusion) - so with my drs help I began t...

I am age 68, and have had grey curly hair since I was in my twenties. I started taking 30 of Cymbalta less than twomonths ago. My hair is now completely straight, I feel extremely tired all the time, without enough energy to do my housework, or even barely take a shower. I rarely leave my home anymore. All my bloodwork remains normal. I don't know what to do, and am afraid to discontinue the Cymbalta for fear of side effects from stopping it. Help, please. ## Hello, Mimi! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. I do not have any information on it changing hair from curly to straight, so I can't speak on that, but the other symptoms you've mentioned can be normal side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA, you may also experien...

Looking for a Dr in Grand Rapids that isn't a closed minded neanderthal. I've been to 2 different docs in the past 4 months. I was quite active growing up and as a result suffered quite a few injuries. Between sports, military, and work life, my 38 year old body feels like its 70. Chronic fatigue, back pain, sharp pains going down legs is a daily torment. The first doc I saw put me on Cymbalta for three months to no effect. He then diagnosed poison ivy as a viral infection (really?) Needless to say I didn't remain with him. And the second he told me after one visit, that fibromyalgia doesn't exist (mother, father, and sister are all diagnosed with it by the way). After initial blood work he informed me that nothing was abnormal and we could discuss further treatments. Kn...

Hi. I've been down this road almost 30yr. With all this, anxiety, panic attacks.side effect, different meds, nothing worked. Took forever and it turned my life upside down.not happy then. Been on cymbalta 10 years, its ran its course and making me jittery and nervous and shaky and confusion and focus are bad.tried before going off and was a disaster. Now it seems better, only been three days. Taking 30mg for 14 days then switch to probably effexor xr. Unless Dr. Has better idea. I also take ativan half milligram in am and pm. I sleep better and have no panic attacks at nite with it. Wellbutrin 100. For the calming effect. Not easy when you must change things around again. But I'm just lying low, but it really seems to be alot easier now. No major problems. But I've taken cymba...

I've had trouble with my since I was very young. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was in 4th grade. Now my curve has worsened, 52 degrees curved. Plus my disks are crumbling. They don't want to do surgery due to my age and the complications associated with the surgery. They have told me there's nothing they can do for me. I am taking Cymbalta, Celebrex, Lyrica, Tizadine, Tramadol 200 my time release pill. I am having really pain more so than ever due to the curve. I'm trying to force myself to stand up with out looking pathetic. I can't cope with this any longer. I don't want to fight to get on a pain pill which would help me. maybe my blood pressure would not be high. My med Dr will not prescribe narcotics. I respect her decision. She's told me there...

What is Mixed Connective Tissue Disease? What medications are prescribed for it? Could this be the cause of severe low back pain? My Dr. doesn't believe in fibromyalgia but I have been diagnosed with this going on 12 years. I am taking Cymbalta, and Ultram for the fibromyalgia. My Dr. prescribed plaquenil but honestly I cannot tell I am taking anything. And since he prescribed the plaquenil he cut my dosage of Ultram from 100mg 4 times a day to 3 times a day. I quit taking the plaquenil because it keeps me awake at night, even though I take trazadone and clorazapam for sleep. I have had to add 2 benedryl with that to stay asleep. Can anyone offer me some advise? ## It's also called Sharp's Syndrome, it's an autoimmune disease. The prognosis usually isn't good for lon...

Cymbalta's generic, Duloxetine, was given to me by my pharmacy without notifying me of the change. I'd been taking Brand at night, 120 mg. for four plus years and the drug made a tremendous difference in quality of life. On the generic I had insomnia from the get go, felt depressed and exhausted during the day, and didn't figure it out for several days because the generic capsules are exactly the same colors as the Brand. (There ought to be a law...) Dr. suggested I then try taking it in the morning; then at dinnertime, but was still unable to sleep for more than three hours at a time, even after thirty hours of wakefulness. Feeling spaced out during the day made it Impossible to function normally, and eyes were still wide open at night. After a couple of weeks I felt like s...

I forgot to take my tablet last night at 6pm and I took one at 10am this morning when I remembered to take it. What time should I take it tonight? Also I am feeling very nauseous - is there something I should do in order to feel better? I have had some neurofen but the headache is not going away at all. Also I am dizzy. ## Hope you are better by now. Resume normal dosage when you miss one. Try saltines for your stomach. I use ibuprofen for headaches and body aches. Ask your doc about dizziness. I take Cymbalta before bed. ## I was told to take it at 6 pm when I get home from work. I only get dizzy when I forget to take it and feel like crap the next day and have to take myself to bed and don't like driving when I feel like this. What are saltines? ## Saltines are crackers like Premi...

Has anyone ever experienced auditory hallucinations while taking Cymbalta? I have been on 60mgs for 1 week, and just a little while ago I experienced what I am certain was an auditory hallucination. Either it was that or some is trying to contact me from inside my television. Anyone? ## No, I'm not finding that listed as a known side effect, the only auditory one listed is tinnitus. Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted your doctor, yet? Has anyone else experienced this?

I feel swimmy and very out of body, sort of. I don't have any sense of time and seem pretty confused. i have taken two 30 mg capsules, one yesterday morning, and one this morning. I plan to never touch one again. Any thoughts or advice? And to all who suffer, may you win your battles in your time and find sweet rest. Thanks. ## Hello, Rick! How are you doing? Those can be normal side effects, when you first start this medication. Things usually improve, after about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body adjusts to the medication. Other side effects may include dry mouth and weight changes. What others have you tried? What condition have you been diagnosed with?

There's been some legal cases recently filed in the US regarding Cymbalta withdrawal. Claims that Lilly deliberately omitted information about the true risk of withdrawal in the product label and in marketing materials. According to the LA law firm Baum Hedlund, the label wrongly claims that Cymbalta only has a 1% withdrawal risk, when in actual fact Cymbalta studies show a much higher risk rate - between 44% to 50% withdrawal risk! ## hello I have been on Cymbalta 4 for years now my doctor has taken me off about 2 weeks ago the withdrawals are horrible she switch me to Zoloft the suicidal thoughts while I was on Cymbalta was overwhelming the head zaps are scaryand I did gain about 30 pound and I am a thin lady.this is my second go round on Cymbalta I was per scribed Cymbalta in 200...
