Cymbalta Nightmare!

I was on Cymbalta for 4 months, worked my way up to 120 mg. Experienced "brain zaps" and terrible twitching of my extremities. Decided to wean off with the help of my psychiatrist. Weaned off very slowly, even dumping out half of the last two weeks of capsules (bringing down the 20 mg tabs to 10 mg tabs). I have been totally off Cymbalta now for 2.5 weeks. My pain/discomfort is normally an 8 out of 10 but now it's a 9.5 out of 10. Feeling horrible! Head pain, nausea, dizziness, frequent hot flashes. Feel like I would rather be dead. This is a horrible drug. I hear it helps people (didn't help me at all) but if you ever have to come off of it, fasten your seat belt as it will be an awful ride!

Hello, Catarin! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're so miserable.

It's very unusual for it to cause brain zaps, while you're taking it, typically that just happens upon withdrawal.

The rebound pain, nausea, dizziness and etc. that you're experiencing can all be normal effects of stopping it, as listed by the FDA. They should eventually taper off and go away, but it may take a month or so.

Has anyone else experienced this?
