Cymbalta 60mg And Doxepin 10mg

I have been on cymbalta 60 mg for several years, recently my doctor prescribed 10mg of doxepin for sleep. I have taken the doxepin before bed and the cymbalta in the morning for 2 days. It didn't help me sleep but I felt dozy and like I don't care both days, like I'm in a capsule by myself. I used the interaction checker and it said that these 2 meds had a high interaction. I've decided not to take a doxepin tonight. I'm interested in some opinions. Thanks

Yes, there can be risks associated with taking them both, such as developing serotonin syndrome and hyponatremia.

This does not, however, mean that they cannot be taken together, but that your doctor does have to carefully consider the prescribed dosages and they should be monitoring you on a regular basis to check for such problems.

Have you contacted them about the symptoms you were experiencing?

I will be seeing my doctor next week but I couldn't have stayed on that the was it made me feel. I used to years ago take doxepin 75mg only and it definetly helped me sleep but for me I don't think it's good to mix antidepressants.
