Cut Lisinsopril In Half (Top voted first)

I just got prescribed lisinsopril 5mg and it makes me feel really weird. I was wondering if it would be ok to instead of taking the whole 5mg pill at one time, I could split it in half and take a half twice a day? Tank you in advance for any help :)

Hi Peach,

Generally if there is a score line on the pill it is meant to be cut in half for these circumstances. But if there is not one, I would just recommend discussing this to your doctor first.

From my own personal experience and opinion, cutting a pill in half can safely be done with any medication that is not time released and/or doesn't specifically instruct you "not" to do so.

It does, indeed, have a score line that helped me neatly slice it in half last night. The best part? The effects are no where near as bad! I was shaky, pass outy, throw uppy, vision was weird. But it's ALOT mire tolerable. :)
