Could Invega Cause Involuntary Eye Lids Closing??
UpdatedI've been on Invega Sustenna injection for over 6 years. My eyes started closing involuntary about 4 years ago. It happens no matter what i'm doing or where i'm at. I'm at the point where i can barely drive because one of my eyes closes. I've been to the eye Dr. several times and he said my eyes are fine. I've been to numerous neurologist, my first D.r thought it was a condtion called blepharospasm, the last one didnt believe i had the condition and thought it was psychological. My therapists thinks it's a nervous twitch or a 'tic'. I don't know what to believe is causing it but i am blaming my Invega or at least want to get off the medication and see if it helps.

Hello, Zatha! How are you doing? Has there been any change?
When you say they are closing, do you mean for a prolonged period, or is it just like a brief blink? What dosage are you taking?
The FDA does warn that these medications may cause tics as a side effect, as well as weight changes, drowsiness, and sedation.
hi it is the invega this same thing was happening to my 19 yr old daughters who was taking this medication every morning her eyes would begin to close and she bearly could talk at times she looked like she was having a stroke in front of me when i took her to see the psychatrist they tell me there nothing they could do to take her to the emergency room my daughter could bearly function and was foaming at the mouth and was shaking vigoriosly i was so pissed im telling you what i know this medicine is poison wing yourself off while you have a chance i dont want anybody to deal with these horrible side effect reality is there all about money and making your life a living hell by keeping you on it and giving you more each time and trying to make us believed that were depressed or crazy and that we need this pshco medicine to manage as they say cure does'nt exist in there vocabulary they dont care
Re: Verwon (# 1)
Thanks for the reply...
Nothing has changed with my injection- same dosage. My last visit with my psychiatrist I told her about my eye spasms and she prescribed Cogenton which hasn't helped at all. I asked her to lower the dosage and she wouldn't. said i have a serious mental illness and she won't lower it.
When i say my eyes are closing, i mean one, or both my eye lids close and i can't open them. My eye doctor thinks it's caused by the medicine. As he told me he had another client with the same issue while being on anti-psychotic.
