Most unaffiliated pharmacies will always be cheaper in price for people without insurance. Walmart/Target/Walgreens/Costco/CVS etc are big chains and will not help ppl without insurance. Stay away from those phony Medical cards claiming to save on RX's prices, they do no good for you. They basically tell the pharmacy to charge you more than cost, and split the difference with the pharmacy, hence you pay more then necessary.

On average, you can get 180 QNTY 30MG Oxy from independent pharmacies for around 100$. Do not pay those big chains 250-900$, they are ripping you off if you do go there to fill your prescription.

Actually, the opposite of what you've said is true, in many cases.

The large chains often buy in bulk, which lowers their price and thus, lowers the price for uninsured or underinsured customers.

Additionally, the savings cards can save a significant amount of money on some prescriptions. My pharmacy, which is a large chain, helped me find one to use that would provide the most savings on the medications that I take regularly. It took my blood pressure medication down from over $70 a month to under $30 and my medication for heart function went from $45 a month down to just $18.

It really depends on the pharmacy, location and which medication is needed. Prices and savings will vary. You can even read this on the NIH and FDA pages, it's why they don't provide pricing information along with the other information that's available on various medications.
