Cosopt Of And Ibs

A woman I care for has ibs and glaucoma. The doctor put her on cosopt of drops recently and she feels it is affecting her ibs. Before taking cosopt she had her ibs under control. Is this possibles?

Yes, that is possible. When something is used in the eye, as opposed to being used topically on the skin, more of it is absorbed and it can cause problematic side effects.

This medication is approved by the FDA to treat intraocular pressure associated with glaucoma and its typical side effects may possibly include burning, stinging, redness, blurred vision and bitter taste in mouth.
