Contrave And Smelly Urine

OMGOSH... I can not believe I am asking this, but.... I am on month 4 of Contrave and my urine has an odor. I have looked at the side effects and I do not see that as one of them.... Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

Almost any medication can cause such a side effect, according to NIH studies, since you are adding a new chemical to your body.

However, if you start experiencing other symptoms, such as pain, burning when urinating, or blood in your urine, please see your doctor, as soon as possible.

Are you on any other medications?

I’m having the same issue. Going to see doctor to make sure it isn’t another problem, but I’m almost positive it’s the Contrave. Started about a month in as well.

Yes, yes, yes. I am entering my third month on Contrave & I've been worried about the smell of my urine too. It's AWFUL. I truly believe it is the drug causing this but I've read that a foul musty smelling urine is typically the effect of liver problems. I just would like to know for sure that it is the drug.

Hi, I am also taking Contrave and have noticed smelly urine. I am soon quitting the Contrave cause I didn't find it helpful for losing weight. I'm hoping that the smell will go away as well. I will let you know.

Hi ! quit taking Contrave and no longer have odor; apparently, Contrave was the culprit.

Yes I am experiencing the same thing but I’m only on week two. When I went I was like omg it’s very strong I thought I was losing it.

I am pissy smelling also.
I see results of weight loss but all these side effects are getting to me..I have been on it for 2 months..some bruising also

This is my second month and I am noticing the same thing. I have been googling it but other than your post there's not really much that I have seen.

I have experienced the same thing ever since the original medical company was acquired by the current makers and distributors of Contrave.

I’m only on week 2 of contrave but I noticed the foul odor during the first week. I do get kidney infections fairly often so I thought maybe it was one of those coming on, but I’ve never had this odor from my urine with an infection before. I’d say it started within the first 3 days of taking Contrave
