Contrave And Severe Altered Taste

Please help. I've been on contrave 6 weeks and have had a few side effects but also muscle twitches everywhere. My main question is I have a bad metallic taste in my mouth. I can't even drink water. What should I do? Do I stop for a while? I'm desperate

That can be a side effect of the Bupropion that is in Contrave, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness and insomnia.

If it is still lingering after 6 weeks, it may not go away and you may need to consult your doctor to try a different medication.

thanks, I have been on Contrave for 6 weeks now. I had a violent throwing up episode over Mother's Day. I was left with this taste ever since. I also have an infected tooth that is being removed soon. The antibiotics made it so I can manage warm water but no cold water. I don't know which it is. If it still lingers by the end of the week I will cut down and stop Contrave for a week or so and see if that fixes it.

thanks, it did help. I have been sick for a few weeks and that gave me the time to get off the Contrave. I started back yesterday at the beginning. I am thinking just the 2 or 3 pill a day is the most I'm going to be able to take to keep the bad taste away. And I have kept my weight off in the meantime. Thank you.
