Contrave And Birth Control (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have been on contrave for about 5 months now and ever since I have had spotting while on birth control pills. I normally take them continously for 3 months and then have a cycle that last week but now it seems to be causing a cycle every month. Has anyone else had this problem?

Irregular menstruation is reported by the FDA as a possible side effect of Contrave. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and insomnia.
Have any other women experienced this?

Yes. I've been on Contrave for4 months, and I start my cycle in the 3rd (instead of 4th) week of pills, and my cycle is longer; usually about 7 days.
Hi there, this has also happened to me while on Contrave. I’ve been on birth control for two years, I hardly ever get my period. I’ve been on Contrave for 4 months and have had my period every month for the last 3 months. This is a side effect that I do not want, I’m considering stopping the Contrave.
I started Contrave about three weeks ago. I lost approximately 10 pounds in the first week and half, but discontinued it because of the side effects. I think i have suffered from every one of the side effects. I'm pretty sure the medicine is still in my system, because i stopped last week, after two weeks of trying it. I noticed that I became constipated, always tired, no appetite at all, libido went completely out of the window, insomnia, dry mouth and the latest thing I am dealing with is a period that won't go away. This is one of few times that I have had a period for over a week. The only thing that i have done differently is add Contrave to the equation. I lost 40 pounds on my own just simply saying "no" to the wrong things and exercising at least 30 minutes a day, 5-6 days a week. It took some time and patience for the weight to come off, but i would rather it take time than feel the way i felt on Contrave.
Yes I suffer from chronic migraines and my medication has caused me major weight gain so as a counter measure my doctor prescribed contrave to kick start me I am going on week 3 and I really thought that somethings else had gone horribly wrong, my first week contrave causes me spotting then these past two weeks my migraines have been so intense I can't sleep and I have felt insanely nauseous my migraine medication has not been able to counter the contrave side effects it took me a while to figure out it was the contrave but bc of my current conditions I monitor everything I do very closely that I was able to conclude what the issue was and I have completely stopped its only been a few days so I feel crummy still I'm not really sure how long it takes for it to leave your system
I have been on contrave for 6 weeks and started spotting daily after the first week. I am also on birth control that I take for 3 consecutive months then have a period. Has anyone found a way to make the spotting/bleeding stop?
