Contrave And High Fat Foods (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I ate a high fat meal (stuffed baked potato) tonight and am wondering when it is safe to take my evening dose of Contrave. All the warnings say is do not take with a high fat meal. Well, how long do you have to wait? There is no information on that! Has anyone heard?

I asked my dr for nausea medicine. I take it with every dose of contrave I take. It’s made 100 percent difference

Hi I've been taking contrave for about two months now and lost over 20# but the side effects are very bothersome can I stop taking it without have any withdrawal symptoms?

I have been on contrave for two weeks and one day. I am up to two pills in the morning then One at bedtime. Can I just stop this medicine cold turkey. I havent lost any weight and feel awful all the time. This isn't the medicine for me. But will it hurt to just stop? Thanks!

Hi Bonnie, does age play a role? This is my third day and I am nauseous and dizzy...I take it with food and it just doesn't help.

I actually took my medication with a high fatty meal and ended up in the bathroom for awhile. It will definitely make you rethink and I dont think a baked potato would count for high fatty meal.

Hi. I ate a high fat meal before reading these and realizing it was a bad idea. About to start week 3 and had not eaten a high fat meal until yesterday. I had a burger that had bacon and fried onions on it..... I payed for that. Really bad headache and nausea. I hadn't really had much side effects before that. On the positive side those symptoms will definitely make me think twice about eating like I used to!

Any experiences with healthy fat foods? Avocados, eggs, cheese, nuts, olive oils? Just trying to get a good grocery list of ok foods. Thanks in advance

From the 1st list I posted I eat 10 oz split into 2 meals. I either saute, bake, broil, or pan fry with light PAM

Fruit is part of the veggies servings
Small apple unpeeled (1)
Apricot fresh (1)
Blueberries 16 or 3/4 cup
Grapefruit fresh large 1/2 or 11 oz
Grapes (12)
Orange small (1)
Peach small (1)
Pear large fresh 1/2 or 4 oz
Strawberries (12)
Cherries (8)

-Salad dressing (any with 2 grams of fat and carbs per serving or olive oil and red vinegar)
-Snacks
-Sugar free jello or sugar free pop sickle

I know this is an older post but hopefully it gets back to you. I find taking Bonine, which helps with nausea a little bit before I take Contrave helps me a lot. I space my pills out so the side effects are not so bad.
