Contrave And High Fat Foods (Page 3) (Top voted first)

Updated

I ate a high fat meal (stuffed baked potato) tonight and am wondering when it is safe to take my evening dose of Contrave. All the warnings say is do not take with a high fat meal. Well, how long do you have to wait? There is no information on that! Has anyone heard?

I tried that but the nausea was still too bad for me. I had to go down from 4 pills a day to 2, which still keeps away my cravings and helps me stick with keto. I take 1 in the afternoon and 1 before bed to avoid the nausea.

I have found that if I eat a higher fat meal after taking the Contrave (within 3hrs or so) that my stomach suffers far more sensitivity & when sticking to smaller or much lower fat meals I am just fine. It’s hard for me I’m entering month 2 - but I’ve lost 10lbs, & that’s motivating.

I guess that’s the motivation to stick to a decent diet - to avoid nausea/cramping, and see true lbs come off!!
A baked stuffed potato sounds delicious right about now... trick is to take the pill same time every day - I personally have been taking at 7:30am & 7:30pm. I’m about to up my dose, so I’ll check back in!

See that information is super helpful to read! I've been starving myself sticking to veggies and super lean cuts of meat, haven't gone out to eat in 2 weeks and I'm going mad lol

Re: pat (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

I know they dropped two studies on Heart concerns, picked it up and dropped it not once but twice. Nobody really has any answers based on fat consumption to the point of a seazure, the effects it has on our hearts or what the side effects are once we decide to stop it.

I have trouble with a full dose anytime of the day so I would love to hear from anyone who has an answer. I can not take meds like others. Example…I can’t take two DayQuil as prescribed. I can only handle one pill. .

Danger of taking contrace with high fat food percentage of having a seizure? What is too much?

Hello, MrsMeck! How are you?

Have you tried asking your doctor?

Unfortunately, I'm only finding the same thing you are, not to take it with a high fat meal, but no specific time frame. Taking it with a high fat meal creates the risk of seizures.

Other typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness and anorexia.

Does anyone know more?

Re: CP (# 20) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, According to me, it will be better to do regular exercise than taking any medicine for weight loss. As medications are made from chemicals it'll definitely hamper with results in the future. Recently I got an article regarding weight loss & healthy dieting. They briefly described all the things on that post. So if you want to lose your weight then regular exercise is a must. Thank you.

Does anyone know if I can take my contract morning dose (2 pills) a few hours apart? As soon as I bumped up to the two pills in the morning, the nausea was unbearable. I'm wondering if I space the two "morning dose" pills apart, if I will get less nauseous? Does anyone know the answer to this, or does anyone know if it's "okay" for me to do this?
