Contain Gluten?

I have celiac sprue and am taking the salmon-colored generic: citalopram 20 mg. Does it contain gluten? The drug did not show up on the gluten-free drug list, but Celexa (non-generic) was listed as gluten free.

I also have started taking Citalopram 20mg. Have you found out for sure if it does not contain gluten. I feel I am having stomach issues and wonder if this is the result of the generic form of Celexia, which I'm told IS gluten free. Please let me know if you've found out any more info.

I'm sorry, but the color really doesn't tell me anything, however, if you can post back with the name of the manufacturer of the particular generic you are taking, I may be able to find a list of the ingredients for you.

Is your pharmacist aware that you cannot have gluten? If so, they should check the contents of all drugs, before filling your prescription.

Dr. Reddy's manufactures a gluten free Citalopram. Let your pharmacist know, and they should be able to give that to you. Try Wal-Mart, it's where I get mine. Hope this helps and good luck! =)
