Constant Chest Pain

Hi all. So I have had this in the centre of my chest and left side for months on end. Had loads of heart tests done all came back clear. I am on omeprazole which helped for a bit, but it's back now in force. Constant pain so bad and shortness of breath. I keep getting scared it's a heart thing even though I have had all these tests. Can anyone help? Could costicondrices last for months and months? I am 38. I am just so scared all the time

Sara I have had a long struggle with this as well. currently on Protonix(rx). It keeps it under control but I have to watch my diet. Not eat to late, limit spicey food, no caffeine, limit carbonated drinks, not take to much ibuprofen, NO alcohol, All this does make a difference. There were times I couldn't even drink water without getting indigestion and I had to sit up to sleep the reflux was so bad. If I run out of protonix, I do take the omeprazole(otc) 2 times a day. I used to keep bottles of Maalox and rolaids by the bed, and take them by the handfuls . About the costochondritis its an inflammation between the ribs that can cause sharp stabbing pain, you should be able to tell the difference. you can take alleve(naproxen) or Motrin(ibuprofen) for it but it can take 4-6 weeks to improve sometimes longer, and anti-inflammatories can aggravate your stomach. This can be very frustrating and you feel like sh__. your tired and aggravated and its depressing cause you feel bad all the time. Good Luck! My thoughts are with you. Karen
