Concerned With Oxcarbazepine Exhaustion

My wife has been taking Oxcarbazepine 150mg twice a day for a couple weeks now. Didn't notice at first but now she's super tired esp mid afternoon into the evening and sometimes spacey. Forgetful, a def "slow motion" kind of demeanor etc. I am just hoping this subsides over time because it's starting to affect her quality of life. Going to bed at 6pm cause she can barely keep your eyes open.

Hello, Boris! How is your wife doing?

That can be a normal side effect, when someone is new to taking such a medication, as listed by the FDA. She may also experience nausea, dizziness and headaches.

They usually improve after about 4 to 5 weeks, once their body gets used to the medication. I remember when my husband first started taking this one, though it was back when were just friends, and it would often cause him to crash out, even in the middle of a conversation. But once his body adjusted, he's been doing great on it and he takes the 300mgs tablets twice daily.

If it doesn't improve soon, or if it worsens, she should consult her doctor.

Is there anything else I can help with?
