I have been recommended the use of Amtas-M 5/25 to control fluctuations in hypertension ranging from 130/80 to 150/100 (2 years ago). I have been taking one tablet in the morning daily. The blood pressure has since come under control ranging from 110/70 to 120/80. However, I notice swelling of my ankles/feet during the day from the afternoon through the evening hours. My doctor has now recommended a change to Telma-H 80. Which of these two is better and which has long term side effects? I am 61 years old and male.

You should follow your doctor's instructions and take the medication they have recommended.

The NIH lists the typical sid effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.
